After years as a professional Pilates instructor, Andrew chose to share his love of Pilates with others by co-founding the Pilates Spot in 2014! Andrew is a bodywork advocate and fitness enthusiast who believes that Pilates is all about achieving balance. He assists his clients in the process of discovering their personal equilibrium through body awareness, nutrition education, and whole-body fitness.
He first attended the Body Alchemist Pilates Training Program and then earned his national certification through the American Sports and Fitness Association. He later attended The School of Healing Arts in Massage Therapy & Nutrition and is currently licensed massage therapist.
Andrew is known as the "gentler" trainer within our Pilates family. He uses his background as a professional dancer to help you get a great workout under his guidance. One major key point in his teaching, is you will also leave each session with knowledge and techniques that can be used outside the studio walls.
Andrew encourages men and women of all ages and fitness levels to pursue Pilates. He frequently taps into his exceptional knowledge base to introduce creative modifications for even the most basic exercises. Andrew is a natural teacher, and he loves to create custom Pilates workouts based on varied individual levels of fitness and flexibility. He believes in a diverse approach to self-care, and his ultimate goal is to help his clients tap into the multitude of mental and physical health benefits that Pilates has to offer.
Paula has been a professional Pilates instructor for seventeen years. Her journey into Pilates and bodywork began back in 1999 when she chose to leave a corporate career in Chicago for a new life in sunny San Diego. Shortly after arriving in California, she discovered the healing power of Pilates and quickly established a foundation of core muscle control and body awareness. It wasn’t long before she recognized her own potential to affect positive change and promote healing in others. This journey into health would forever change her career path and her perspective!
Paula trained at The Body Arts and Science International (BASI) Academy in Newport Beach, CA and has consulted for BASI in the process of opening several international Pilates studios in Hong Kong. She attended the International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB) for stretching and Thai massage training, learning to integrate movement with bodywork.
Her instructional approach to Pilates is multi-faceted; she not only helps her clients maximize their fitness potential, but she also utilizes a therapeutic approach. She is the queen of multi-tasking and has eyes in the back of her head! Corrections come firmly, often, and with love.
Paula’s main goals are to promote physical health for an active, pain-free life, while fostering a sense of community and having FUN! She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her co-ownership of the Pilates Spot.
Natalie McLeod - Trainer
Natalie began as a student of Pilates at Riverside Community College while studying Visual Arts. After her first class, she instantly noticed an improvement in awareness. After consistent practice she noticed a change in posture, physique and relief from muscle tension and back pains. Not only did she feel improvement and fluidity in her movement, she discovered she could implement the Principles of Pilates into her everyday life.
Natalie has been teaching Pilates for 6 years and received her certification through Body Arts and Science International under the instruction of Constance Holder and school founder, Rael Isacowitz. She is an advocate of consistent practice and education to achieve desired results, mind-body awareness and total balance. She believes that Pilates is for everyBODY regardless of gender, shape, size, background and limitations.
Natalie's passion lies in the art of Pilates and takes pride in sharing her knowledge and experience with others.
